Yellow Springs Art + Ales | Brent Kronk
Join us in welcoming Brent Kronk to our Art + Ales series at the Taproom!
We're hosting an artist reception for Brent on Thursday, February 19 from 6 to 8pm. Have a pint with the artist, support local art, and take home a piece of your own!
Brent's paintings and pencil + ink drawings will be displayed and available for purchase in our Taproom from Monday, February 16 until Sunday, March 29.
About Our Artist:
Brent Kronk is a multidisciplinary artist who explores moody and emotional subjects that are human faces, flowers, skies and landscapes. She pulls from personal experiences, photos, friends and family, bringing emotions to the surface of her work. She has recently been encouraged to begin creating art again by her husband, in addition to her college professor/mentor, after not creating art for over 40 years. Using oil paint, pen and ink, and pencil, she is back in touch with the joy of making art. Excited to create with new and different subjects, she is looking forward to exploring new techniques and ideas in the future.
Columbus Art + Ales | Nancy Dankof
Welcome Nancy Dankof's work to our taproom! Come view her paintings and mixed-media work from Tuesday, March 3 through Sunday, April 12.
From the Artist:
"I have always had a passion for art which is inspired by the colors in nature. I photograph images focusing on a shape, color, person, object that has caught my eye. I later might interpret that photo or part of that photo into a painting. I began expressing the beauty around me with watercolor but now I am mostly experimenting with acrylics and mixed media. I use a variety of methods and try new techniques. I find joy creating and discovering new skills. I like to explore and see if I can find success. Current projects are focused more on layering acrylics, collage, stencils, and markings, building up texture. Each layer adds color and contrasts that help determine what object will appear. A story or emotion evolves a reflection to the viewer."
Nancy has grown up in Dayton, Ohio. She began her creating at a young age. Nancy graduated from Denison University with a BA and the University of Dayton with a MS. At Denison, she minored in art. She taught H.S. art in Georgetown, Texas, and ran summer park art programs. Nancy has renewed her art in the last few years. She has taken classes from Dayton artists and has continued learning her art skills with a variety of online classes and local workshops. She is a member of the Dayton Society of Artists, Women’s TriArt Society, and the Fairborn Art Association. She has shown her work in juried shows/events: Rosewood “Works on Paper,” Dayton Society of Artists “Future of Female,” Middletown Art Center, German Village Center, the COShop, and Edward A. Dixon Gallery “We’re Doing It All Wrong.”

Columbus Art + Ales | Rainelle Wright
Welcome Rainelle Wright's work to our taproom! Come view her dark, introspective paintings + collage art from Monday, January 19 through Sunday, March 1. Artwork available for purchase. If interested, ask a bartender!
From the Artist:
"I have recently delved back into the art world as a new citizen of Columbus. My work touches on themes of the supernatural, or irreverent pop art, or altered landscapes, depending on my mood at any given time! I have a small series of each style. My current series is based on the Peter Gabriel song '14 Black Paintings.'
“I am a baby artist at the start of my golden years, attempting to find meaning in a world that has become almost incomprehensible to me. With age comes a more acute awareness of mortality, my own and that of places and things, so I strive to capture the things I find beautiful, or quirky, or disturbing by wrangling them into something two dimensional, and those usually have something or other to do with death. I have also been a professional makeup artist for 40 years and am extremely interested in faces so that always seems to find its way in. So enjoy the present moment, have the dessert, and savor the glass of ale. If you ever want an interesting collage that involves your face and all the things you love or find interesting, I’m your girl. Get in touch."

From Donna:
"I have lived in Ohio all my life. My painting style has been self taught, and I have always enjoyed doing all types of art as long as I can remember. The paintings on display here are all types of acrylic painting and a few using mixed mediums, such as textured paintings and acrylic pours. Since I enjoy different kinds of art there are realism paintings, acrylic pours, abstract paintings and art deco paintings here on display. I get my inspiration from places I have been, photos and pictures I have seen and some are through creative thoughts. I’m very blessed to have encouragement and support from my husband, family and friends. Hope you all enjoy my art as much as I did creating it!"

About Ali:
Ali is a local stained glass artist inspired by the beauty of nature and light. Art has always been part of her life— painting, pottery, macramé, tattooing, and stained glass. An OSU graduate, she comes from the Byrne family of Columbus, a large kin of artistic, hands-on makers who helped shape her love for craft, color, and creativity. Her creations transform simple materials into something that dances in the daylight. Each piece is an exploration of texture, shape, and color. May her pieces brighten your windows (and your mood) as much as making them brightens hers.
