From Valerie:
"I have a lifelong love and appreciation for the beauty of nature:
of what is around me, what I can touch, smell and see, as well as what I cannot see yet knows is there, of what was and is created by forces greater than humankind. What makes me happy are the sounds of the outdoors, the pleasure to revel in the beauty of open fields, appreciating tall trees, streams, rivers, prairie’s and mountains. The 4 seasons, the result of the earth’s tilted axis, are distinct yet similar. Our landscape is affected by them. I am affected by the landscape. Each season has its own beauty which feeds my passion for and desire to be part of the great outdoors, to be part of what is greater than all of us. This exhibit includes a small portion of moments I’ve experienced over the past 4 seasons viewed and expressed through the lens of photography, fiber arts, and watercolor.
"I am a Yellow Springs Townie who grew with Whitehall Farm and Ellis Pond as my backyard. I grew up in a loving, artistic, kind and supportive household. My siblings and I were encouraged to find our passions, to do what makes us happy, to find joy and meaning in our lives. I traveled across county to Arizona State University where I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a minor in music. I earned my Master’s Degree in Sports Studies from Miami University of Ohio."
